Map of Ancient Canaan
Podcast Episodes: Season One.
Back to Show Notes Contents.
This map shows most of the place names I refer to in season one. The brown-shaded area is the crucial
central highlands area, land of low-value. This was probably the homeland of the Israelites. Eventually the Phoenicians came to occupy the northern coast, and the Philistines the southern coastal strip. The Jezreel valley was the most fertile area, followed by the Shephelah lowlands and hills.
